Torie Osborn (Storyteller) is a progressive leader known nationally for helping lead major fights for social justice over five decades, including the AIDS crisis, LGBTQ rights, and economic and racial justice. She has served as CEO of the Liberty Hill Foundation, the LA LGBT Center and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. Recently retired, she was top policy advisor to LA County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, as well as a Deputy Mayor to LA Mayor Villaraigosa. In 2017, she founded Making Waves for Democracy, an all-volunteer group of 150 activists still going strong, having raised over $2 million and canvassed 90,000 doors in four states to fight Trumpism. She is a published author with a BA in English from Middlebury College and an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School.
